The Northern Virginia Geocaching Organization (NoVAGO) was established to encourage and promote good geocaching practices and create a community of geocachers through our events and activities. We are committed to safe, responsible, and environmentally friendly geocaching. We welcome involvement and cooperation of park management and local government to keep geocaching open to the community and to promote the geocaching hobby to the greater community.

    NoVAGO volunteers have been sharing the basics of geocaching through Geocaching 101 events at local libraries since 2024.     For 2026, we plan on introducing monthly themes for the Photo of the Month Contest to inspire NoVAGO cachers and provide a clearer focus for voting. In addition, we will be adding an optional field to insert a link to the log where the photo has been posted. This may provide some backstory to the photo for the enjoyment of the viewers.
